5 Blogging Mistakes That Can Reduce Your Chance to Business Success

Blogging Mistakes to AvoidThere is a big misconception as into what is the main use of a blog in business. So the question is why is a blog important? the answer is this; a blog serves as a hub that connects to all social media traffic and brings together you as a brand. this means you can use your blog to show case your values , skills, know of a subject area to people on other social networking sites. In other words, you are building yourself as a brand. Unfortunately, there are some mistakes that are common among bloggers that repel people from following their works instead of attracting people. These are stated thus;

  1. Most bloggers focus too much on themselves (in ward thinking) instead of looking for problems faced by people in their specific industry and then provide solutions to such problems. By such way improving their chances of being recognised within the community.
  2. Most bloggers are not consistent with their blogs which may send a negative impression to people that you are not to be taken serious.  When you provide values in a consistent basis to your community, your reputation will grow positively and people will take you serious as an authority in your industry who cares to help others.
  3. They also take their opt-in lightly; this is absolutely very serious because one of the big advantage of you having a list is to help you to build your list. So it is vital not just to add great and valuable contents to your blog but also capture your followers details. This will help you a building a solid business.
  4. Some bloggers even mismanage their list by trying to sell to them at every opportunity, this may repel them  as well as discourage them from ever visiting your blog again.
  5. Most people want to have a perfect blog, perfect graphics, everything perfect before they start blogging. This is a major mistake, you don’t have to get everything right at first , it is a way of never getting started at all. so it is best for you to start with whatever resources you have now, gain momentum and develop your blog as you go along. Just start blogging your ideas, opinions and knowledge that are valuable to your targeted community.
What you should do now
  1. If you ever want to become a leader in your industry, you have to believe in yourself as well as your values.
  2. Your value in the marketplace as a marketer will dictate your income level. So the more value you have, the more income you are going to make.
  3. Once you believe in your values, it is time to get infront of people.  Starting blogging your values and distribute them around the social media and see your reputation and your income grow.
Thank you.

    Hey Kenny,

These are some awesome tips for the beginning of the year my friend!
Regarding blogging for building a home based business there is a little paradox: the biz depends on you as a real person with skills, unique gifts etc but your brand is determined by how well you manage to serve people from your niche with value(content and products) and maintain a great relationship with them.

It’s interesting that when you cease to focus on making money with blogging asap and move your attention to providing a quality service your income will grow very fast…desperation moves people away..compassion and consistency attracts people..simple as that:)
I do agree that believing in yourself is one of the key aspects of life itself…nothing great has ever been built without belief.
Believing doesn’t mean only dreaming or hoping..it involves taking massive action without expecting your work to be perfect.

    Great post to start 2012!
    Thanks for sharing Kenny:)
    Make it a fantastic year!

Thanks Radu for your wonderful insights as always. I strongly believe it requires lots of discipline to focus more on the end result of helping others with valuable and quality contents especially with a lot of pitching and unforced hype over the internet which may serve as a point of distraction. One just need to have a proven formula to carry out his / her objectives without losing focus. That is you believing in yourself and your values that you are adding to the community as well as your relationship with them.

Thanks for all your insight comments,
      Once again happy 2012.
      Kindest regards,

    Hi Kenny,

    Excellent tips as always.

Keep your message super consistent. Changing your message confuses your audience. It’s difficult to grow a consistent readership if you change your message too much.

Stick with your topic. Write posts daily. You program your readers to follow you, day after day, and you will grow your list with ease as you hit the same message on a consistent basis.

Believe. Radu summed it up perfectly. You must believe so strongly in yourself that you become immune from criticism. Keep believing in you and what you have to offer the world, and the world soon mirrors your belief back to you.

Thanks for sharing your insight Kenny.

      Thanks Ryan,
you are totally right. One must have a proven and working rituals of building their brand but the main question is how immuned are you to negative criticisms. they are like poisons that can easily drain all your energy as well as halt your momentum in getting results which makes keeping the right people around you as well as the right mentors an important asset to have. Like Donald Trump put it, your level of success will be determine on how many negative critic you can silence or overcome. Mostly this can be done through consistency and your passion for what you do.

Thanks Ryan for your great wisdom as always.

      Have a wonderful day.

      kindest regards,

    Hi,, Kenny,

I appreciate your sharing these insightful blogging tips. I totally agree with you that we are here to share our experiences and knowledge so that others can benefit from our path (often bumpy ones).

I particularly agree with your point about GETTING STARTED. I first started with a Blogspot site, not exactly knowing what I was to blog about. Later, I learned that I needed to have my own domain name and hence moved onto my own little online ‘property. It was only until recently that I have had my blog updated to a more professional look. We can always learn as we grow. Getting the basics right is good enough for a start….and many supportive people appear as we move along.

For anyone who is now wondering if they can do the job, I encourage them to visit this blog: http://JackieUlmer.com and get Jackie’s free resource “An Introduction to Online Business Building: What You Must Know”.

    Happy Online Marketing!

      Hi Viola,
I am with you on the fact that it is always good to start and then as we keep going, there will be help coming our ways which is due to the fact that people are watching every step that we take and so help will definitely come our ways. Also, success in life is determined by how much you have learnt and implemented to achieve. I agree with you, I believe is a wonderful source of knowledge, I came across her website few years ago and I am still a fan of her work.

You are doing a wonderful job Viola, Thanks for sharing your beautiful vies on this post. I appreciate you so much.Have awonderful day.
