Networkers BEWARE! Top Things You Must Know About Your MLM Opportunity!!

MLM opportunities are everywhere these days, and it’s no wonder that MLM is the fastest growing industry there is, adding 1000s of new members daily. With the vast variety of companies out there, how can you know you’re choosing the right one?

I have put together these tips that I believe you should look for before choosing a business opportunity;

1. The Products

This is vital to your long term success in the business. You must ask yourself some important questions and yours answers must be clear enough. Ask yourself

“Is this something I can see myself selling?” “Is this something I can see yourself buying?” “Is it high quality?” “Is this product innovative and appeal to other people, not just me?” “What are the benefits or solutions this problem will solve?”. You must ensure that these answers are clear and ignite some passion in you towards the products. Also, I strongly recommend that you get involved with an MLM that offers some products that consumers will need to reorder regularly.

2. The Cost

One big problem I always find in some of my past MLM companies was the cost of the monthly autoship are extremely high to keep up with, especially that you have to buy certain volume points to stay in business of getting commission. Most Network marketers find it hard to sell a product if their prospective customers know that another company is selling the same thing cheaper (Bad competition!). Also, consider the kind of people you are going to be marketing this to. Will the prices seem too high for the demographic you will be marketing in?

In addition, Costs to enrol should also be reasonable. When you consider the enrolment fees, remember that you will probably be recruiting as well as direct selling. Will the high start-up costs be a hindrance to your recruiting efforts?

3. The Company

What is the company about? What is its mission statement? What is the leadership like? Is the company geared toward customers/Distributors? Or has everyone in headquarters forgotten what it was like to be in your shoes? Is the company growing? Is it successful or limping along and likely to fold and leave you in the dust?

You must look for Confidence in the company, Is the company recognised by the government, a licensing or regulatory body or membership in an organization like the DSA (Direct Selling Association) or the Better Business Bureau. This will instil confidence in your future prospects or customers.

Look for a company that stands behind its products proudly, with a 100% money back guarantee.

4.  The Marketing & Mentoring System

It is vital to know exactly how your business will be run, will you have a team of mentors who are interested in your success and are ready to guide you? What system is provided to you to make you business convenient to run? The proper amount of training and support will be crucial to your survival and success as a network marketer. Look for an upline that is helpful and easily accessible. Look a company with an overall slant toward helping consultants meet their goals.

What marketing techniques does the company employ, and can you live with those? Are you really cut out for the home-party thing? Will you be cold-calling leads or pressuring friends to join? Are you easily discouraged by rejection? Will you be able to leverage the Internet to attract customers and business prospects?

5. Excellent Compensation Plan: You must be careful here, ensure to study compensation very well so that you are clear exactly how you will be rewarded for your efforts. If not clear ask questions.

6.  Look for a Business you are passionate about

If you don’t believe wholeheartedly in your company, its management, policies and products, you won’t be able to exert the confidence needed to sell those products or recruit others. Don’t try to fit a round peg into a square hole. It doesn’t have to be into nutrition. Follow your passion; it may be cooking, education or even financial services. Look for whatever fuels your passion or puts your hidden talents to use.

Take a good look at MLM and find the opportunity that looks good on you!

Your Turn: Are you in the right opportunity and why did you choose such opportunity?

If you are yet to choose an opportunity, which one’s will you consider and what are you looking for in them?

    Hey Kenny,
    Powerful tips here.
I believe that the strongest are #6 and #4. Find something than fits your values and passions and then seek to find a team plus one/more mentors. The rest derive from these two: company, products etc. Personally I love marketing, people, personal growth and travelling..thus,I choose a MLM or other products that represents one of these.
You’re right..chosing a MLM company implies checking out all the factors above and paying attention before you join.

    Thanks for sharing your tips.

Do your DD’s. Strict due diligence. All steps are super important Kenny and I’ve found selecting a top shelf mentor to be paramount. Overwhelm is big in this industry. Too much at once leads to failure. Having a strong mentor to walk you through a simple, step by step system makes all the difference. Thanks for sharing Kenny!
