Do You Why You Are In Business? How is it to Your Success?

Why Are You In Business?

Knowing Your BIG WHY is Key to Success in Your Business… This is WHY…..

There are many reasons why people do what they do in life especially business. People go into business different reasons known to them. Some want more money to increase their time freedom, some want a new career, others wish to create wealth and establish a strong residual business for the next generation, some wish to spend more time with their children, travel the world, pay off debt, support a ministry, buy a new home, a car or a myriad of other things. There is basically one thing above all else that you need to have firmly positioned inside your heart and mind. That one thing is your WHY. To have success into anything in life you need to know your WHY.

⇒> The purpose behind your actions and your primary motivation for accomplishing your goals or task at hand is determined by how strong your WHY is.

Define Your Why Factor

Before investing in any business ventures, your WHY must be very clear and well defined. You need total clarity with your WHY or it will be tough to not fail miserably.
It is your reason to stay disciplined and focused on building your business when times are good and when problems strike which is inevitable in life as well as business. Especially in these current economic times more than ever it is time to focus on the why factor.

I don’t know where you are in your business or career, maybe you just started, or you haven’t started, or maybe you’ve been doing it for years, but there is one thing I can say with complete confidence.
In any business you will be constantly tested and you need to keep focused in order to succeed. Having your WHY defined clearly in your mind will be the foundation to your success.
You need to find out your why. Define this in your mind before anything else.
Having a WHY is a constant reminder in the back of your mind pushing you when you meet a challenge. You need a WHY for when you had a trying and testing day. It will get you back in the game and help you refocus to try again and never give up.

Your Why Will Help You Succeed

Some of the most successful people in business had their most profitable ideas right after their biggest failure. They knew their “why” and had the correct mindset to never quit. A very good example is Donald Trump, Richard Branson and many more. They took their ideas and used proper application of their skills to achieve wealth.
The sole reason they were able to achieve success was because they knew why they were doing what they were doing. This why ensured they did not quit when a minor set back or even a major failure came.
I’ve seen too many people in business give up just short of the finish line. It’s painful to see someone defeat him or herself. They defeated themselves because they didn’t have a strong enough why to push through the tough times.

It is your WHY that will keep you focused when your family or friends aren’t 100% behind you or even worse try to knock you down a notch. Sometimes in life, we share with our family a great idea only to have them not give you 100% support. Worse yet they may even tell you that you never will make it or that you are wasting your time. Having a strong why will make you almost immune to these types of occurrences.

FACT: To own and operate a successful business will require commitment from you along with persistence, training and support to your core Business Partners. Some people who become business owners for the first time in their life love the opportunity and vision of the results that can be attained, but they find it challenging. However, when compared to having a life controlled by a job that carries no hope for them to achieve their dream, the challenge of being your own boss becomes a purpose worth living for.

Successful People always know their WHY. When the storms come, and come they will, they have a strong reason for being there. If your heart is not truly in the game and you don’t have a WHY to anchor you, you’ll get blown out by any little wind.

What Next?

Why did you decide to become a business owner?

Why did you part with your hard-earned cash to start a Business?

So why are you here? What is your WHY for doing what you do?
take some time to ponder this question. Dig deep and write your answer below. Write down your Whys………

Discovering your answer to these questions is one of the most important things you’ll do in pursuit of success in this business.
The truth is, if you don’t determine an answer that really resonates with you and even moves you, you may not be in business for a long term.

    Hey Kenny,
    I enjoyed reading your post.
Great perspective you have. Agree, problems will inevitably come and things “won’t seem” too friendly. In fact they are..all it’s working in your favour to become a better version of yourself.
I decided to be an entrepreneur a year ago. I have 22 now. No business experience at that time but with all my fears and doubts I always beliedved that I and people around me can live better a life full of passion joy and purpose.
Therefore my “why” is to assist myself and others to create higher versions of themselves starting from the inside and continuing with the financial abundance through mlm plus internet marketing.
There are many challenges but they make us strong and thus we should be grateful for them.
Luv the examples with Richard Branson and Donald Trump. I admire especially RB. He is dislexic and yet his will to have fun and make a difference are the traits who made him so successful.
What is your why my friend?

    Thanks for sharing your insights,

Great post! Your Why definitely has to be bigger than 'just to make money.' It's important to dig deeper because that's what will keep one going when faced with challenges and obstacles.

Great post! Knowing your WHY is so very important because it has to be more than just money. It has to be specific and strong enough to keep you going when the going in your business gets tough and you feel like throwing in the towel.

Unfortunately many people who start a business have not taken the time to determine and identify this, and I especially saw this first-hand when I very involved in Direct Sales and was building a team. The result was that people quit at the first sign of challenges.

Another thing is that many persons have never been taught to do this so sometimes it’s due to lack of understanding of how important it is to know your Why.

Awesome comment Yvonne, I really see where you are coming from.. it is amazing see lots of people quitting and some don’t even have enough drive of sense of purpose of exactly why they were involved in what they do… majority think is money and once they are faced with challenges and no money coming in, they simply give up. The sad part is some of these people are very in intelligent, ….like an african adage which states that ” the brightness of the sun does not make a blind man to see”.

I only wish most people will find time to find out the reason why they do what they do, that will the drive that will see them through tough times, Just like Steven Covey said ” putting the end in mind”.

Thanks Yvonne for your wonderful and insightful contribution.

I’d love to see you around as well as connect with you.

      kindest regards,

Great blog post Kenny. I have come across so many people who start business just because ….. but are not really clear and define as to what they really want to achieve.

Thanks for sharing this with us here.

My "why" was the reason I started an online business and it is what keeps me persisting with it – my "why" is what drives me forward despite what others may say – it is my target which I keep in my vision each and every day… thanks for this thought provoking post!
