Using the Power of Focus to Grow Your Business

Have you ever seen a car driver who constantly keeps on looking fully on his rear mirror without looking forward at all while driving his car? I believe you can guess what can happen to such driver, he will inevitably crash his car in just a matter of time and sometimes this crash can be fatal to the driver and even his passengers.

This is same to our personal life and business, we are the driver of our lives and businesses , if we fail to focus on the right things; we will definitely crash which sometimes can be the death of a dream, relationships or business.

Why Focus and what drives us to Focus?

There is only one attribute (virtue) that can be used to measure the strength of our FOCUS and that is our sense of Purpose. Purpose can be described as our mission in life which has to serve us and people around us. It is what makes people remember us. Purpose can also be described as what we want to contribute to the world….

There two attributes that determines our level of focus apart from our purpose, these are our;

  • Strengths   
  • Weaknesses
  • Our Strengths make us feel good, it energises us and makes us more productive while our weaknesses on the other hand overwhelms/ deprecate us; de-energises us and also makes us unproductive.

    The 80/20 Rule

    the best way to take advantage of our strengths is to implement the 80-20 rules where we can focus 80% of our energy on our strengths and 20% on our weaknesses. other ways that we can become more productive is to take advantage of the power of delegation and outsourcing which is done by looking for experts or people who can help to do the task that we are weak on.
    Alternative, we can embark on trainings on improving the skills that we are weak on.

    How can it Help Us to Grow Our Business?

    We can strengthen our power of focus to grow our business by implementing the RPM plan designed by the world renowned Anthony Robbins;
    RESULT (R) ==>> you must know exactly the result you want to accomplish in your business

    PURPOSE (P) ==>> You must know why you want the result to happen

    MASSIVE ACTION (M) ==>> you must know how to get the result that you are after and act on them immediately.

    In Taking massive action, You must have great clarity of your purpose and convert all you shoulds (non clear purpose) into MUSTs (clear sense of purpose).

    Always remember that life will pay whatever price you ask of it, ask/seek intelligently and you shall receive but you must be clear of exactly what you want. Clarity is POWER. Be Specific and clear about what you want of life and FOCUS on it.

    In relation to growing your business from small to big, you must remember this accronyms for the word FOCUS

    F ==>> Follow
    O ==>> One
    C ==>> Cause
    U ==>> Until
    S ==>> Successful
